Hello, My name is Sommer L. Brooks. I am a fourth year public relations student from the beautiful city of Ellenton, FL. I am planning a diabetes awareness luncheon that I call the "Get Close to your Glucose"celebrity luncheon. My luncheon is in Daytona Beach, Fl at Bethune Cookman University. The luncheon will incorporate a few celebrities who are currently suffering from diabetes. I hope that these celebrities can give testimonials and incite on diabetes and inspire students to change their eating habits.
Hi, My name is Ashley Palmer and I am a Senoir Public Rlations student from Ft. Lauderdale Flroida. I am planning a Hip Hop Health Fair at Florida Memorial University in Miami, Florida. At this fair they will show young people healthy living tips such as diabetical care, the importance of exercise and how to choose the right foods. There will be free food, fun and games for all ages. Not to mention there will be a Hip Hop Raffel, some lucky family will win free health care for a year and stick around for a historical performance for a special, diabetic artist. This event is sponsored by the American Diabetes Association and they want to implement life long health care to all.
I am Brittany Roberson, a fourth year public relations student from Tallahassee,Fl. I am in PR methods this semester and as an assignment, our class has to successfully plan a fictitious event;mine is a 24- hour marathon which is focused on diabetes. The event will be held at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville,Fl "home of the tigers". I am very excited about this endeavor, planning events is something I have a passion for doing, as the summer progresses I hope to get a better grasp on the what it takes to make a good public relations practitioner and event planner. So if you have any ideas or just want to check up on my project, don't hesitate to comment. Have an awesome day!
As group three, we want to ask you: What kinds of foods do you eat on a day to day basis, if they are bad what can you do to change them? If they are good tell us how u changed them and what tips you have for others ?
Back in January of this year the student associates in the PRodigy PR Firm launched a campaign called LIVE SMART: A 12-Month Celebration of Healthy Living! It was and is a great campaign and I think it got a lot of people on the FAMU campus seriously thinking about their health habits. It certainly made me stop and take inventory of my lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI love to eat and I love to cook and I found myself eating a lot of the wrong foods on a daily basis; french fries, milk shakes, bread, sweets, and more. My work day would be so hectic, I would grab all kinds of junk throughout the day and, when I finally got home at night, usually around 9pm, I was starving. So I would eat anything that was fast and easy and good.
The one tip I would give to anyone trying to adopt healthier eating habits is to think first about what you are going to eat before you eat it. Most of us eat without thinking much about what we are eating. We don't take the time to thoughtfully plan our meals. I'm trying to change that in my life.
I want to stay healthy so I can keep teaching those wonderful PR students and working them to death!
I try to eat healthy, but as alot of students know, when you work and are in classes, it's very hard. I find myself eating that sugary snack, just to give me a boost of energy to get through the day. I have made an effort to workout more, which makes me feel alot better, both mentally and physically. I probably would eat more healtier if it wasn't so expensive or time-consuming.
ReplyDeleteI try to cook as much as possible anytime before 10pm. Taking time to actually make sure the meals I cook are healthy is my problem and being in college doesn't help.
ReplyDeleteIt's so quick and easy to just throw the chicken in the grease and have a great southern meal that doesn't taste dry and disgusting like most healthy meals.
I love peanut M&M's and it's so sad how I am addicted :(. The only way I can change my horrible eating habits is to buy only healthy foods and try my best not to eat out as much, which will save money in the end.
I'm still working on this matter so I can't offer any advice, sorry.
