Is managing a schedule part of "Keeping it Real" while trying to live a healthy lifestyle?

The answer is YES! maintaining a healthy lifestyle takes planning, and for many students that may be complicated due to our crazy schedules. I have found if I plan my day out in advance, I'm more focused throughout the day, because I know what to expect. It's a good idea to keep a planner handy, because you can write down when to take a snack break or a good time for a short distance jog after classes. Personally I live by my little planner and think it is a good idea for every student to keep up with their activities, assignments and even a record of the foods you eat to keep with your daily diet. In order to live a healthy lifestyle, you have to want to change for the better.

Here are Some Quick Tips to Living a Healthy Lifestyle:
1.Everything should be done in moderation – eating, working, resting, playing, maintaining hobbies, socializing, and so on.
2.Exercise regularly
3.sleep for at least eight hours every night
4.Drink plenty of water, it hydrates your skin and is good for every organ in your body
5.Go for regular medical check-ups

  1. I am currently trying to live healthy by eating better, exercising regularly, and drinking at least one bottle of water a day. I will try and implement this healthy living to my children, so they can be healthy all their lives. ASHPAL

  2. Utilizing these tips to living a healthy lifestyle will really help my daily pattern. But as a college student, I find that it is hard to put into effect. I try my hardest to eat salads, instead of cakes and carrots instead of cookies. But when I am faced with the temptation of burgers and pizza, I always give in to those greasy devils. How can I avoid this?

  4. I live a healthy lifestyle by trying to workout at least three times out of the week. But I don't acutally eat the healthiest of foods. I think that eating healthy is a life choice but sometimes you have to roll with the punches.

  6. Hello Brittany:

Your topic is a good one and your tips are right on target.

I think the most important thing you have mentioned on this blog is time management. Whether you are a college student, a working professional, a stay-at-home mom, etc., it is important to manage your time.

I find that my work day here at Florida A&M University is filled with interruptions. I have determined that that is just one of the challenges of being a professor. People are going to constantly interrupt you. I don't mind the interruptions when it is a student, a colleague or someone who really needs my help. However, when it is someone who has not managed their time well and is now attempting to waste my time, it infuriates me!

I am trying desperately to live a healthier lifestyle. It is so difficult to do during the fall and spring semesters when my work day often begins at 7:00 a.m. and doesn't end until 9:00 p.m. I am so tempted to stop by the fast food places and pick up something "fried and delicious" as a reward for a long day's work.

Thanks for the reminders and tips for living a healthy lifestyle. I needed to read this.
